Mosolut on balconies
Thinking about upgrading your balcony or loggia? Did you know that polypropylene tiles are an ideal solution for apartment balconies?
Take a look at our projects – you might find inspiration for your own home.
Apartment balconies, Šumperk, CZ
As part of the renovation of 16 balconies in an apartment building in Šumperk, we designed a functional and durable solution to replace the original rubber tiles laid directly on reinforced concrete. These original tiles had a closed underside structure that trapped moisture. Water remained inside the construction, leading to long-term dampness and gradual surface damage.
The solution was the installation of Hestra Universa tiles, which allow water drainage and drying. The installation was quick and easy, and the owners are very satisfied with their new, safer flooring.

Loggia, Rousínov, CZ
“I wanted something maintenance-free that I could install myself – without needing approval from the building manager.
The advantage of plastic tiles is almost zero maintenance, and they still look great.”

Apartment loggia, Brno, CZ
“During the building renovation, the balcony floors were somewhat overlooked, so I wanted to improve mine with something that would visually match the building.
Hestra tiles pleasantly surprised me – they are comfortable even barefoot, don’t feel hard, and chairs don’t scratch them.”

Terrace behind a house, chalet in the Austrian Alps, AT
The owners of a mountain chalet wanted to improve their terrace. The location is cooler, with a stream running below the house, and the seating area faces north, where humidity and cold are frequent. They chose to install Hestra Universa tiles over the original dusty concrete surface.
Originally, they had planned wooden decking, but due to the conditions and maintenance requirements, they decided to use it elsewhere.
The installation of the entire area took just one afternoon.
