A School Playground That Children Don't Just Walk Across. They Play on It All Day.

Morning PE lessons. Football during the long break. Basketball in the afternoon, or simply running around with friends.
The school playground in Holasice is a place that stays busy throughout the day. Every day, dozens of children use it, so the sports surface has to withstand much more than just sporting activities. It needs to be safe, durable and ready for intensive daily use in all weather conditions.
That is why Bergo Flooring sports tiles were chosen for this project, which we installed at Holasice Primary School in the spring of 2026.
A Playground That Inspires Movement and Play
The goal was not just to build another sports court. The school wanted a space that would encourage children to stay active during breaks as well.
The design therefore included not only traditional sports areas but also colourful games created directly from the modular tiles.
The playground features:
- Tic-Tac-Toe
- Hopscotch
- Ludo
Additional games, including Twister and a target game, were painted directly onto the sports surface.
The result is a multifunctional space where children can play sports, enjoy games and simply have fun outdoors.
Why Bergo Flooring?

Before installing the tiles, we prepared the construction layers consisting of:

This combination not only increases the lifespan of the playground but also provides greater comfort when running, jumping and landing.
Colours That Encourage Play
Blue is the dominant colour across the entire playground, creating an attractive contrast with the colourful game elements. Because some games require four colours, blue was replaced with white in selected graphics to improve visibility and make the games easier for children to use. These thoughtful details help transform the playground into a place where children naturally want to spend their time. Today, the playground at Holasice Primary School is used not only for PE classes but also as a place where children actively spend their breaks.
And that is exactly what projects like this are all about. Not simply creating a sports surface. But creating a place that encourages children to put their phones away, get moving and enjoy playing together.
