For the city of Liberec, we carried out the refurbishment of an existing sports court fitted with older Bergo tiles. The main objective was to clean the surface and replace damaged elements without a complete reconstruction.
Over time, the surface had accumulated dirt – debris, leaves and organic materials were present both between and beneath the tiles, affecting performance and appearance.
Project process
The work began with surface preparation, including cleaning and removal of accumulated debris.
The refurbishment then included:
- dismantling of the existing surface
- thorough cleaning of individual tiles
- removal of dirt, moss and deposits from the sub-base
- cleaning of the separation membrane
- reinstallation of the tiles
For cleaning, we used our own equipment, including a generator and a large-capacity water tank, allowing efficient work directly on site within a single afternoon.

During the project, it became clear that some tiles should be replaced. However, these were not ordered by the client, so the work focused on maximizing the use of the existing material.
The court was cleaned, functionally restored and prepared for continued use without the need for full replacement. This project demonstrates that Bergo sports surfaces can be effectively refurbished even after years of use, maintaining high performance for both recreational and professional sports.
